Dacono CO 6-20-2009 - 20 late models hit the track for the first of two 40 lap A Mains in the DEX Yellow Pages Father's Day Short Track Attack at CNS.

#31 Richard Smith had the pole with #10 Tyler Chrisinger on the outside. #11 Darren Robertson was on the inside of row two alongside #95 Cristofer Muhler. #42 Ronnie Hults followed behind in row three. Chrisinger quickly moved into the lead with Rick Smith and Darren Robertson duking it out for 2nd. Robertson made it around the inside hurtling to the tail of Chrisinger. Before long, Robertson was coming along the inside of Tyler Chrisinger for the lead! #95 Cristofer Muhler got around Rick Smith taking 3rd, he was  followed by Ronnie Hults who took 4th.

It was an intense 4 car break away between Chrisinger, Darren Robertson, Muhler and Hults with no clear indication of who would take stand out. Robertson came around the outside of Chrisinger on lap 17 but some fancy driving kept Robertson at bay.  All leaders were navigating lapped traffic when #12 Bruce Yackey joined the pack in 5th place. At lap 22, Robertson made another move, this time on the inside of Chrisinger but lapped traffic kept him behind. Tyler Chrisinger wasn’t giving away a thing.

Robertson made another move on lap 25, this time coming around the outside of Chrisinger at turn 3. The two dragged along the front stretch with Robertson coming out on top. Darren Robertson pulled away, widening his lead, Muhler maintained a steady 2nd and Yackey was close behind.

The field opened up at lap 31. Muhler in 2nd and Yackey in 3rd stayed on Robertson while Chrisinger in 4th and Hults in 5th slipped several car lengths behind. With two laps to go it was clear that Robertson would take the win. #11 Darren Robertson passed the checkered flag followed by #95 Cristofer Muhler, #12 Bruce Yackey & #10 Tyler Chrisinger
