ROBERTSON RACING AND BIONIC BAND TEAM UP FOR TUCSON, SET SIGHTS ON AFRICA

PDFPrintE-mail

bionic-bandDENVER, COLORADO (Monday, January 4, 2010) - NASCAR Whelen All American Series star Darren Robertson will make the trip to Arizona to represent Colorado at the Drivetech Racing School Super Late Model Phakisa Challenge race at ASA-sanctioned Tucson Raceway Park on January 8th and 9th. Robertson will be sponsored by Bionic Band, a product family created by Phoenix-based Perfect World Solutions.

While a win at Tucson would be a great success for Robertson Racing and Bionic Band, a chance to race in Africa provides even more incentive. In addition to the $5000 first place prize money, the winner of the 150 lap Phakisa Challenge at Tucson will receive a paid trip to Africa to compete in the ASA Transcontinental Series FreeState 500k at the Phakisa Freeway Circuit in Welkom, Free State, South Africa. This includes a car provided by Drivetech Racing School, pit crew, and  a guaranteed starting spot in the “Battle Between Two Continents.”

Robertson Racing and Bionic Band anticipate success as they merge their innovation into a common goal. Bionic Band is a new technology that, when worn close to your skin, aligns the protons in your body and provides added energy, balance, and strength. Bionic Band does this by tuning your body to its intended frequency, therefore protecting it from the frequencies radiating from things such as cell phones and computers. Robertson Racing joins a recognized group of Bionic Band team members, such as the Arizona Cardinals football team and several Olympic athletes.

darren-robertsonDacono CO 6-27-2009 - Darren Roberston and eventual winner Cris Muhler battled door-handle to door-handle for 40 laps in the Race to Find Missing Kids event at Colorado National Speedway.

When the 40 lap main event started, #10 Tyler Chrisinger had the pole with #27 Roger Avants on the outside. #03 Happy Ferree had the inside of row two with the Furniture Row Racing #11 car of Darren Robertson beside him. #95 Chris Muhler was on the outside of row 3.  When the green flag waved, Chrisinger moved to the front as Muhler sped into 3rd. Robertson saw an opening on lap 5 and took the lead. The speedy #42 Ronnie Hults found his way from 8th to 4th. There they were, Robertson, Muhler, Chrisinger and Hults 4 of the fastest at CNS. Neither Muhler nor Robertson gave an inch to the other as they sped round, swapping paint, lap after lap. Meanwhile Hults was a mere car length behind and gaining.

At lap 31 the leaders were approaching lapped traffic. The three leaders navigated through the lapped traffic while staying within striking distance of each other. It was Muhler in 1st, Robertson in 2nd and Hults in 3rd. Robertson pressed onward. Muhler wasn’t giving a thing! At the white flag Robertson pulled up past Muhler on the inside. On the final lap, Muhler took back the lead in dramatic fashion. At the checkered it was #95 Chris Muhler for the win with Robertson following only a few inches behind. Ronnie Hults was 3rd followed by #12 Bruce Yackey in 4th and #27 Roger Avants in 5th.

darren-robertson-6-20-2009Dacono CO 6-20-2009 - 20 late models hit the track for the first of two 40 lap A Mains in the DEX Yellow Pages Father's Day Short Track Attack at CNS.

#31 Richard Smith had the pole with #10 Tyler Chrisinger on the outside. #11 Darren Robertson was on the inside of row two alongside #95 Cristofer Muhler. #42 Ronnie Hults followed behind in row three. Chrisinger quickly moved into the lead with Rick Smith and Darren Robertson duking it out for 2nd. Robertson made it around the inside hurtling to the tail of Chrisinger. Before long, Robertson was coming along the inside of Tyler Chrisinger for the lead! #95 Cristofer Muhler got around Rick Smith taking 3rd, he was  followed by Ronnie Hults who took 4th.

It was an intense 4 car break away between Chrisinger, Darren Robertson, Muhler and Hults with no clear indication of who would take stand out. Robertson came around the outside of Chrisinger on lap 17 but some fancy driving kept Robertson at bay.  All leaders were navigating lapped traffic when #12 Bruce Yackey joined the pack in 5th place. At lap 22, Robertson made another move, this time on the inside of Chrisinger but lapped traffic kept him behind. Tyler Chrisinger wasn’t giving away a thing.

Robertson made another move on lap 25, this time coming around the outside of Chrisinger at turn 3. The two dragged along the front stretch with Robertson coming out on top. Darren Robertson pulled away, widening his lead, Muhler maintained a steady 2nd and Yackey was close behind.

The field opened up at lap 31. Muhler in 2nd and Yackey in 3rd stayed on Robertson while Chrisinger in 4th and Hults in 5th slipped several car lengths behind. With two laps to go it was clear that Robertson would take the win. #11 Darren Robertson passed the checkered flag followed by #95 Cristofer Muhler, #12 Bruce Yackey & #10 Tyler Chrisinger
